March 16, 2020

Like everyone else, we are following the Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments very closely. We continue to monitor the latest advice from our provincial and federal health authorities.

Our number one priority is the health and well-being of our clients and employees.

While the risk of contracting the illness remains low in B.C., we recognize that our clients may have some questions or concerns about how we’re responding to this evolving situation.

If you are not feeling well, or think you may have symptoms of illness, we ask that you not come into the office and contact us by phone instead.

If you have a scheduled consultation in our office, we can certainly change your consultation to a telephone conference instead of an in-person meeting. Let us know if you would like to switch your consultation to a telephone meeting.

Our goal is to stay open and available to serve our clients as long as possible; however, there may come a time when we need to have our lawyers and staff work remotely and only keep a skeleton staff in our office. You can rest-assured that work will continue on your files, we will just not be gathered at the office.

For your information, at our offices, we’ve implemented some precautionary health and safety actions. These include:

  • Carrying out the highest available service standard of sanitization in our office.
  • We are disinfecting all high-touch surfaces such as boardrooms, conference rooms, countertops, door handles, handrails and keypads.
  • Requiring employees to stay home if they are sick or have any symptoms.

If you would like to pay an account, we encourage you to take advantage of calling us with a VISA or MasterCard number, send us a cheque, e-transfer to judy@sorensensmith.com (provide password please) or use our online banking payment system by going to www.sorensensmith.com, click on the “Make a Payment” tab and follow the prompts for payment.

Thank you for your patience as we make changes to provide you with the best possible service during this evolving situation.

If you have any questions, please e-mail our Office Manager, Judy Lura, at judy@sorensensmith.com.

Stay safe!
