Jesse Langelier

LAWYER

Jesse began working with Sorensen Smith LLP as a summer student in his second year of law school and returned as an Articling Student after completing his degree at the University of Victoria. While at UVic, Jesse co-authored a report with other students at the Environmental Law Clinic which was subsequently used to help ensure compliance with provincial and federal pollution regulations in the mining industry.

Jesse also had the opportunity to complete the final semester of his degree in Amsterdam, the Netherlands where he gained modest insight into international legal issues such as global human rights law, intellectual property law, and international corporate law.

As an Articling Student, Jesse gained experience in employment law, human rights law, contract law, strata law, and civil litigation. Jesse was called to the Bar on July 5th, 2023, he hopes to build on his human rights knowledge and help Sorensen Smith LLP to expand into areas of immigration law and environmental law.

When Jesse isn’t being a lawyer, he is usually at home playing video games, out hiking one of the Fraser Valley’s many hiking trails, or can be found mulling over his fantasy hockey pool. Before law, Jesse worked and volunteered in politics, and maintains an increasingly cynical interest in the topic.
