CHAD BURTON

LAWYER

Chad has been working with Sorensen Smith LLP since completing his law degree at the University of Victoria in 2021.  During his tenure at the University of Victoria, Chad volunteered at the Law Centre, a non-profit which provides advice, assistance and representation to clients who cannot afford a lawyer.

As an Articling Student at Sorensen Smith LLP, Chad has gained experience in employment law, human rights law, and general civil litigation.  He was called to the Bar in May 2022 and is now a practicing lawyer with Sorensen Smith LLP.

Chad has advocated for employers and employees in areas including wrongful dismissals, constructive dismissals, human rights claims, workplace discrimination and harassment, and WorkSafe BC matters.  He also has experience drafting and reviewing employment agreements and advising clients on severance packages.  He understands the importance of obtaining practical, timely and cost-effective solutions for clients.

Outside of the office, Chad enjoys history, board games, the Vancouver Canucks, and spending time with his friends and family.
